NORTHERN PAWS DOG WALKING CLIENT SERVICE AGREEMENT

As a Northern Paws Dog Walking client, I (the “Client”) understand and agree to the following terms and conditions:

1. BOOKING AND SERVICE TIME
All service requests must be submitted and confirmed through my Precise Pet Care account. Requests made by text or email to my dog walker or Northern Paws Dog Walking management are not considered confirmed bookings.
I understand that booked service time includes time required to access my home, prepare my pet, complete requested care, clean my pet following the walk, and complete the service journal. This may include putting on or removing harnesses, clothing or booties, feeding, refreshing water, cleaning paws or pet messes, and other reasonable care requests.

2. PAYMENT
I am required to maintain a valid credit card on file. Cash and e transfer payments are not accepted.
Prepayment is required. Invoices are sent on Fridays for services scheduled the following week and payment is automatically processed using the credit card on file the following Monday.
I authorize Northern Paws Dog Walking to charge my credit card on file for invoices and other amounts owing under this agreement.

3. ADDITIONAL FEES
Appointments booked less than 24 hours in advance are subject to a $10 late booking fee.
Services provided on weekends and evenings are subject to an additional $10 fee per service. Services provided on statutory holidays are subject to an additional $15 fee per service.

4. CANCELLATIONS AND CHANGE REQUESTS
Cancellations and change requests must be submitted through Precise Pet Care by 12:00 PM at least one business day prior to the scheduled service. Northern Paws Dog Walking business days are Monday through Friday.
Cancellations and change requests received after this deadline will be charged at the full cost of the originally scheduled service.
If a prepaid service is cancelled before the deadline, a credit will be applied to my account and automatically applied toward a future invoice.
Change requests include changes to the date, time, duration, service type, or other details of an existing booking and are subject to availability. If a change request is submitted after the cancellation deadline, the original service will be charged in full. If the requested new service can be accommodated, it will be booked and charged separately.

5. PREPAID SERVICE PACKAGES
Prepaid service packages expire three months from the date of the first service used from the package.
Unused services remaining after the expiry date will expire and are not eligible for a refund or account credit, except where otherwise required by law.
Packages remain subject to our regular booking, cancellation, and change request policies. A service cancelled or changed after the cancellation deadline will be deducted from the package and considered used.

6. TEAM BASED CARE
I understand that Northern Paws Dog Walking operates as a team based company and reserves the right to assign or change dog walkers as necessary. My dog walker may not be the same for every service and walker assignments may change without prior notice, unless otherwise agreed upon with Northern Paws Dog Walking prior to services beginning.

7. HOME ACCESS AND KEYS
A key lockbox or door code is required unless I live in an apartment or condominium where this is not reasonably possible. Alternative access arrangements may include a concierge, dedicated lockbox area, building access system, or providing Northern Paws Dog Walking with the requested number of key copies.
I am responsible for ensuring that all keys, lockboxes, access codes, fobs, building applications, parking arrangements, and other access methods remain current and functional.
If Northern Paws Dog Walking cannot access my home, reasonable attempts will be made to contact me and obtain access for up to 15 minutes. If access cannot be obtained, the walker may leave and I will remain responsible for the full cost of the scheduled service.
If access is obtained after a delay, the time spent attempting or coordinating access will be included in the scheduled service time.
If I discontinue services, Northern Paws Dog Walking can return my key for a $15 key pickup/drop off fee or safely dispose of it at my request. If I have not booked services for six months, Northern Paws Dog Walking may safely dispose of my key after providing notice to me.

8. PET HEALTH AND BEHAVIOUR
I am responsible for ensuring that my pet's vaccinations are up to date, including DHPP and rabies vaccinations or applicable titer tests, and agree to provide supporting documentation if requested.
I agree to disclose any known medical conditions, illnesses, injuries, allergies, medications, behavioural concerns, bite history, aggression, reactivity, escape tendencies, or other information that may reasonably affect the safe care of my pet.
Failure to provide required health documentation or disclose relevant health or behavioural information may result in the suspension or termination of services.

9. SAFETY AND SERVICE MODIFICATIONS
Northern Paws Dog Walking reserves the right to modify, shorten, suspend, or discontinue a service if a pet's behaviour, health, equipment, environment, or other circumstances create a safety concern for the pet, dog walker, another person, or another animal.
Northern Paws Dog Walking may require changes to walking equipment, access arrangements, handling procedures, or other care instructions when reasonably necessary for safety.

10. WEATHER AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
Northern Paws Dog Walking may cancel, modify, relocate, or reduce the outdoor portion of a service when weather, air quality, road conditions, or other environmental circumstances may pose a safety risk.
There will be no charge for services cancelled by Northern Paws Dog Walking. When outdoor activity must be shortened, the remaining time may be used for a relief break, indoor play, enrichment, companionship, or other appropriate care. Where appropriate, the service may instead be shortened and discounted.

11. EMERGENCY VETERINARY CARE
I authorize Northern Paws Dog Walking to obtain veterinary care reasonably necessary for my pet in an emergency and to transport my pet to my primary veterinarian or another available veterinary clinic or emergency hospital.
Every reasonable effort will be made to contact me or my emergency contact first when circumstances permit. I accept financial responsibility for veterinary treatment and related expenses incurred on behalf of my pet.
The Veterinary Treatment Authorization below forms part of this agreement.

12. ASSUMPTION OF RISK AND LIABILITY
I understand that pet care and dog walking involve inherent risks, including interactions with people and animals, traffic, environmental hazards, weather, illness, injury, escape, and unpredictable animal behaviour.
I acknowledge and accept the ordinary and inherent risks associated with the services requested. Northern Paws Dog Walking, its employees, and contractors will not be responsible for loss, injury, illness, damage, or expense resulting from the ordinary and inherent risks associated with pet care and the services requested, except to the extent caused by the negligence or unlawful conduct of Northern Paws Dog Walking or to the extent liability cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Nothing in this agreement is intended to waive or limit rights or remedies that cannot legally be waived or limited under applicable law.

13. CLIENT RESPONSIBILITY FOR PET BEHAVIOUR AND DAMAGE
I agree to disclose any known aggression, bite history, reactivity, or other behaviour that could reasonably present a risk to people or animals.
To the extent permitted by law, I am responsible for reasonable medical expenses, veterinary expenses, and property damage resulting from injury or damage caused by my pet.
I agree to indemnify and hold harmless Northern Paws Dog Walking from third party claims arising from injury or damage caused by my pet, except to the extent the claim results from the negligence or unlawful conduct of Northern Paws Dog Walking.
Northern Paws Dog Walking will not be responsible for damage to my property or the property of others caused by my pet except to the extent the damage results from the negligence or unlawful conduct of Northern Paws Dog Walking.

14. PHOTOS AND VIDEOS
I authorize Northern Paws Dog Walking to use my pet's name and photographs or videos taken during services on its social media accounts, website, and other promotional materials.
I understand that I may opt out of the promotional use of my pet's name, photographs, or videos at any time by notifying Northern Paws Dog Walking.

15. CHANGES TO TERMS
Northern Paws Dog Walking may update its pricing, policies, and these terms from time to time. Clients will be provided with reasonable notice of material changes before they take effect.
Updated terms will apply to services booked or provided after their effective date, subject to applicable law.

16. GOVERNING LAW AND SEVERABILITY
This agreement is governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the applicable laws of Canada.
Nothing in this agreement limits rights or protections provided under applicable consumer protection legislation.
If any provision of this agreement is determined to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, that provision will be modified or severed to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining provisions will continue in effect.

VETERINARY TREATMENT AUTHORIZATION
This authorization will remain on file and may be used if my pet requires veterinary treatment while in the care of Northern Paws Dog Walking and I cannot be reached.
Every reasonable attempt will be made to contact me or my emergency contact before obtaining veterinary treatment when circumstances permit.
I authorize Northern Paws Dog Walking to transport my pet(s) to my veterinarian or an available veterinary clinic or emergency hospital and to request veterinary examination and treatment when reasonably deemed necessary.
I authorize veterinary treatment for my pet(s) in my absence and accept full financial responsibility for charges and fees incurred in connection with the transportation, examination, care, or treatment of my pet(s).
I understand that Northern Paws Dog Walking assumes no financial responsibility for veterinary expenses incurred on behalf of my pet(s), and I agree to pay the veterinary provider for charges incurred on my behalf.
